Trying to clean up Agent records. Most of the records with scant data are difficult to find in the database. I search every agent field for their last name and find nothing. I try to delete, and get no warning that they are connected to any other records. I suspect these Agents are second and third authors on a Reference. Agents are added as needed, we rarely add an agent record just to have them, so there cannot be as many un-linked agent records are there are in our database. I THINK second and third authors on references are not linking properly to their references?
@Sagebiel. I am not seeing the same functionality in my database. I searched for a third author on a publication who is not listed in my database anywhere else, except as an author on a reference work. I searched for the agent and attempted to delete it, but received the correct warning that the agent could not be deleted because it was linked as an author to a reference work, as shown below.
