IT Login
Some of the administrative tasks in Specify, such as creating new disciplines or divisions, require an IT username and password. The IT username and password refers to the credentials used to login to the MySQL database manager. The IT user in MySQL has full administrator privileges within the MySQL database manager. Specify is accessing these privileges when it creates these changes and therefore must login directly to MySQL using these credentials.
