Using the Workbench upload in Specify 6, we are trying to map data to the 'Remarks" field of the Taxon table.
The field is not showing in the taxon/taxon only Workbench mapping, we attempted to add it in the workbench_datamodel.xml and workbench_upload_def.xml with no success.
we have also added “text1” and “text2” in the same taxon entry form but we need help adding those in the two workbench xml’s so they could be mapped . Is it even possible to do that?

Customizing the Taxon fields for the Specify 6 WorkBench can be difficult since it has some hard-coded expectations for which fields can be added (Name, Author, Common Name, Source, GUID) for each level.
Specify 7 supports all of these fields out of the box:

We don’t have Specify 7 yet.
Specify is relatively new within our institution, the initial plan was to migrate all our legacy data into Specify 6 before upgrading to Specify 7.However based on these limitations , we may need to fast-track the process of getting Specify 7.
