Hi @warrenbrown,
Thanks for your question!
As of v7.11.2.1 (latest release at time of writing) Batch Edit is still considered a beta tool due to a couple of remaining items we are planning to address before the “full release”.
- If there are two columns with the same caption in the query builder (e.g., “Agent -GUID” for both collector and cataloger), these are not yet visually distinguishable (#7449, planned for
v7.12.0) - The column order from the query results does not always match the column order in the Batch Edit interface. These can be reordered (just as they can be in the WorkBench), but by default the order is often different (#6172, planned for
v7.13.0)
We are also exploring enhancements to the experimental “roll back” feature in a future release, which can be enabled or disabled through User Preferences.
The core functionality is stable and has been extensively used in production environments since its release. In any case, we still recommend creating a complete database backup (which can be done via the UI now) before performing a batch edit operation, in case an action is destructive and a roll back is not possible.
Best,
Grant
