Great news. I was able to update the database successfully after changing both the AppVersion to and 6.8.01 and the SchemaVersion to 2.9.
This allowed me to enter the upgrade mode to make all of the changes successfully after entering my IT credentials.
I can back up my copy of your database after the updates and send it to you or you can try the above steps and run an upgrade using Specify 6.8.02.
