In the tree preferences the fields to sort the tree are Name, Full Name, Rank ID and Node Number:
According to this post Trees in Specify :trees_: the sorting fields are: Full Name, Rank ID, Code, and Node Number.
We are still on Specify v7.11.4., so I was wondering if the field Code is new, and if so, what does it mean?
We would like to sort the Chronostratigraphy tree chronologically, not alphabetically. It would be useful to have a field to assign sort order.

I have confirmed that our mention of selecting Code as a sort option for trees is actually an inaccurate one. I just corrected this in the documentation to prevent any future confusion. Thank you for bringing this to our attention!
In reality, the “Order By Field” options are: Name, Full Name, Rank ID, and Node Number.
An important thing to note is that the “Order By Field” preference currently sets this for all trees.
Given this information, I opened a request on GitHub for expanding the order by field options and allowing setting this preference per tree: Expand options for Trees "Order By Field" and allow granular selection in Preferences · specify/specify7 · Discussion #8024 · GitHub
