in order to import our legacy data, we had to use some spare fields in various tables (text type).
Sometimes the only available fields were rather rather long (64535), but were used for strings up to 10 characters only.
Does the use of this large text fields unnecessarily inflate the size of the database file, even if it is used for short string only?
Does this influence the rapidity of query ?
