Collection Object Groups and mapping to Darwin Core

I’m currently using Specify 7 and had a question regarding how consolidated collection object groups are mapped to a data aggregator using Darwin Core.
For instance, if I have a herbarium packet that includes four different species (two bryophytes and two lichens) all associated with the same catalog number, how is this handled in data aggregators like GBIF? Will all species be searchable by scientific name, or only the one designated as the primary taxon?
Thank you for your help!

Hi @abremner,

Thanks for reaching out!

Based on the current Darwin Core export mapping (DwCA_Fish) in your database, only the accepted name for the current determination is being published per Collection Object (CO), which are identified uniquely as separate occurrences (by GUID).

This means that even if there are four COs with the same Catalog Number, GBIF will interpret each as a unique occurrence because they have distinct underlying GUIDs. Each will be searchable independently by scientific name.
