Customize table/grid column widths in Specify 7

I find the Sp 6 grid design far easier to use:

I have read this (by finding the word ‘grid’) but I’m still uncertain as to whether or not grid column widths (as in the ‘grid view’) can be changed in Sp7.

We use grid and table interchangeably, adding to the confusion.

You can actually add a new columnDef to a view definition that defines the widths of the columns (link here):

Customizing form table column widths

Form tables by default use automatic sizing for all columns. You can override this by adding a <columnDef os="table"> tag.

Example:

<columnDef os="table">100px,0,200px,0,250px,0,p:g,0,p:g</columnDef>

This just goes below the columnDef elements in the view definition that define the column widths. This enables you to change the widths of the table columns in 7, but does not change the behavior in 6.
