Hello,
I’ve successfully set up Specify-7 with MicrosoftID for Single Sign-On (SSO). However, when attempting to create a new user, the “user invite link” option in SP-7 is greyed out.
Could you provide guidance on how to resolve this? I need to ensure that Specify-7 admins can send invite links to new users so they can associate their OpenID SSO accounts.
I was about to go down a rabbit hole, until I read the “new user” part. I believe you need to set a password first and create the user, then the button will be enabled when you next go back to that user.
So, the takeaway is that you need to set a password for the SP-7 user, even if it won’t be used. Once the SP-7 user password is set and the new user configuration is saved, the User Invite Link becomes accessible.
I tested it by sending the link to a new user, and she was able to authenticate directly with SSO—no SP-7 password required!
Our IT security review team wanted to ensure that SSO is used without the need to share the SP-7 password. If users could log in to SP-7 directly without going through SSO, it would defeat the purpose of having SSO in the first place.
