Important: Make sure that your server or computer can handle the number of rows you specify here. It can be very time consuming and require a lot of resources to handle a huge data set.
- In Specify, go to Help → About.
- Double click your institution GUID in the upper right side of the window.
- In the Remote Prefs window, click Add Property.
- In the Property column, enter “MAX_ROWS”. (It must be added exactly as is here or it will not function.) In the Value column, enter the number of rows you would like to add.
Note: The number of rows you can import may be constrained by the amount of memory on your computer and/or server. If you allow a large number of rows and your computer does not have enough memory to handle it, it can freeze your system.
Also, with a large number of records, it may be faster to get the data ready before importing it into Specify as it may be very time consuming to do edits in Specify with a very large dataset.
