Problem: Create new PrepType DNA&Tissue collection

I can’t create a new PrepType in the DNA/Tissue collection. I can do it in the Vertebrates and Invertebrates collections, but I’m unable to determine why.

Thanks for reaching out!

It looks like you are seeing the auto-generated form for the ‘PrepType’ record rather than the custom form we set by default.

You should be able to create a new preparation type by following these steps:

  1. Click on the :gear_: button in the top right of the form to open the Form Meta Menu

  2. Click Form Definition

  3. Uncheck “Use Auto Generated Form”

From here, you should be able to enter a name without it trying to treat it as a pick list. Here’s a short video walkthrough:
